About Us Hello and welcome to the Country Quilt Co. online patchwork and quilting shop. A little bit of history…. Nicky Iwers created the Country Quilt Co back in 1998 so that she could sell her own designs as patterns and kits. It didn’t take long for the mail order business to outgrow the family home and Nicky decided that it was time to open a physical shop. The beautiful fabrics, threads, notions and examples of what could be made lead to the shop in Childers being voted ‘Queensland’s Favourite Shop’ by the readers of Down Under Quilts magazine in 2004 and 2005. What’s in store…. Today The Country Quilt Co is owned by me, Suzanne Conroy. My aim is to provide internet users with the same experience that they enjoy in a needlework or patchwork and quilting shop whenever they visit us on line. The new shop has been in the Ipswich area of South East Queensland for a 18 months now. Stage 1 of the renovations to the building have been completed and now we are ready for an eventful 2008! How can I help the internet visitor to this website? Well; there will be plenty of projects, patterns, books, kits and innovative ideas for you to choose from. The beautiful fabrics and patterns we find will make you look for spare moments in your day. As for the UFO’s – we can provide ideas to inspire you to finish off your work or put you in touch with people who can finish it for you! The impatient and impulsive part of me means that a wide range of products will be brought to you on our website - life is too short not to have a lot of choices. You can browse to your hearts content when ever it suits you in the comfort and privacy of wherever your computer is. And, when you have access to all of these products, services and hassle free retail therapy, you can be sure that you will feel better for shopping on line.
